The capital of Texas was founded
as Village of Waterloo and obtained its current name in honor of Stephen F. Austin. Austin is famous for its music scene, for being “green” and often win prizes in one of the five best cities to live in the United States. Although it is a city without the classic skyscrapers of downtown, has the State Capitol, which is even larger than the Capitol Building in Washington DC. The cultural scene is the biggest reason to like Austin, is the music capital, has a high rate of student population and a lively nightlife, especially around 6th street. The most famous festivals in Austin are the Austin City Limits Music Festival, Urban Music Festival, Austin, Reggae Festival, Pecan Street Festival, Austin, Fihn Festival and South by Southwest. Austin is a great starting point to explore the interior of Texas. Hotels in Austin
