The Isles of Scilly are situated 47 km (29 mi)
off the southwestern coast of Cornwall. There are 140 islands but only five are inhabited. St Mary’s is the largest and the most populous island, is the arrival point for ferries from the mainland. Tresco is the second largest island after St Mary’s, is highly visited mainly because the Abbey Gardens house. The Isles of Scilly had a strategic position in the wars of England. The legend says that, Tresco, was the King Arthur final resting place. The Abbey Gardens has over 20000 exotic plants from all over the world.
