The Rialto Bridge was not always
as we know it today, in times where there was a wooden bridge that fell in 1444 with the weight of a crowd, later there was a drawbridge that opened to the passage of boats with tall masts . The current bridge was built over by Antonio da Ponte who was not an architect known at that time, his project gained the most famous names as well as Sansovino, Scamozzi, Palladio and even the great Michelangelo.
