Florence is the cradle of the Renaissance,
its medieval city centre makes the visitor back a few centuries in time. The Renaissance in Florence was dominated by the Medici family and the works that sponsored. The Uffizi Gallery was built to house the art collection of the Medici. Later the Pitti Palace also housed part of the collection and there is still the Academy Gallery where the monumental sculpture of David, a work of Michelangelo. In the stunning Piazza della Signoria is a replica of the statue in front of the Palazzo Vecchio, one of the most important of Florence. In the magnificent cathedral there are two very rich and beautiful churches, the Santa Croce Church and Santa Maria Novella Church. The Ponte Vecchio crossing the Arno River is one of the most beautiful bridges in the world, was the first bridge in Florence on his board and has several stores in particular goldsmiths. It is without a doubt one of the most beautiful cities in Europe with breathtaking views and many important monuments in the history and culture of Italy.

Transports in Florence
Amerigo Vespucci Florence International Airport (FLR) – There are flights to/from many European cities.
Vola by bus is the airport bus service that connects the airport and the city centre. The ticket costs 5€. By taxi the journey costs about 25€.
By train – The main train station of Florence is Santa Maria Novella. There are train connections to/from Milan, Rome, Venice, Pisa and many other cities.
