This historic octagonal square
with 8 ha in central Paris, is limited by the Jardin des Tuileries on one side and the beginning of the Champs-Elysées on the other. In this famous Parisian square, were executed Louis XVI, Marie Antoinette and more than 1000 French people. In the centre of the square there is an obelisk with 23 meters high which belongs to the Temple of Luxor it has 3300 years and was offered by Egypt in 1833. Two fountains were added and eight statues representing French cities. In the northern part of the square there are small palaces. It is one of the most beautiful and important squares of Paris.
