located in the delta of the Rhine, Rotterdam is not known as a tourist destination but a visit can be very pleasant. Rotterdam is divided by the New Maas River to the city center on the north bank. The port is part of the original historic center of town but the expansion of the port and the city made both to depart. The city has a rich industrial heritage such as bridges, tunnels and canals. It is a city culturally evolved, with many museums and theaters, in 2001 along with Oporto, European Capital of Culture. Rotterdam is a city with modern architecture, nightlife and a good many events related to culture. The Oceanium, located in the Zoo, is an aquarium and one of the most visited city. It is in Rotterdam which are the highest buildings in the Netherlands. The main landmarks of the city are the Euromast with 186 m (610 ft) and the Erasmus Bridge.
