Leipzig is a wonderful city in Germany.
Located in the old GDR (East Germany), Leipzig recovered from the bombings of World War II. In 1989, the peaceful Monday demonstrations that marked the beginning of the end of the East Germany Communist regime began here, in Karl Marx Platz. The Iron Curtain “began to fall” in Leipzig. The city has stunning places like the Market Square, the Volkerschlachtdenkmal (Monument to the Battles of the Nations), the Museum in der Runder Eck and the St Thomas Church (Thomaskirche) where Johann Sebastian Bach is buried.
