Hvar is situated on the Dalmatian coast
on the beautiful waters of the Adriatic. It is a narrow island but with 80 km (50 mi) long with huge lavender fields, vineyards, olive groves and beautiful Venetian villages. Hvar Town is the island’s capital and largest population centre, one of the most famous resorts towns of Croatia and all around the Adriatic. The Venetians were in Hvar for a long time and left a great legacy of that presence. In the centre of Hvar Town, lies the stunning St Stephen’s Square with a magnificent cathedral built in the 16th century.
