After four centuries of exploitation, genocide and slavery, in 1898, Spain lost control of the largest Caribbean island. After the Castro revolution, the United States retaliated by destroying the economy of Cuba but keeping the rights to the famous naval base at Guantanamo. Havana, the capital, is a charming city, the stunning beaches, music and party ever present, excellent cuisine and the friendliness of its people are the marks of Cuba.
