Perhentian Besar (big) and Perhentian Kecil (small)
are two islands located 20 km (12.5 mi) northeast of the Malaysian peninsula. Tourism is the economic base of the island that was once just a small place of fishermen. The natural beauty of the islands with reefs, crystal clear waters and white sand beaches make Perhentian Islands one of the nicest places in Malaysia for anyone who loves the beach, scuba diving and snorkeling.
