Nam Song River crosses the town that the most notable feature is the karst hill landscape. Vang Vieng is a backpacking tourism oriented, the famous activity is tubing in the Nam Song River. It is a popular activity but can be very dangerous when mixed with drinks and drugs and unfortunately accidents have been happened very often.
