Flores is an Island in Indonesia,
lying in the east of Komodo.The island gained its name from the Portuguese (Flores means flowers). Flores is a volcanic island and has a green mountain landscape, steep valleys, rivers, grasslands, beaches and coral gardens. The Portuguese brought Catholicism in Islamic Indonesia, Flores is 90% Catholic. The Dutch were on the island for 50 years but left when Indonesia became independent. The main tourist attractions of the island of Flores are three lakes in Kelimutu, who have different colors. You can get Flores by air from Bali or by ferry from West Timor.
