The Los Glaciares National Park is located
on the eastern slopes of the Andes in southern Patagonia Argentina, along the border with Chile. The park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, has 47 glaciers (glaciares in Spanish), some of them very large such as the Lake Argentina and Lake Viedma. The most famous glacier of the park is Perito Moreno in the south section. El Calafate is the main city of south section, El Chaltén is the main base for the northern section.
