The Serengeti National Park,
was created in 1951 as a refuge for wildlife and is located in northern Tanzania. The national park has a similar size to Northern Ireland and is considered the last great wildlife sanctuary in Africa. It is home to lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, giraffes, hyenas, hippos, buffaloes, wildebeests, zebras, baboons, rhinos, antelopes and over 500 bird species.
