Rabat is the capital of Morocco.
Situated between the Atlantic coast and the estuary of the River Regreg Bou, Rabat has an old quarter full of charm. Rabat has less tourism when compared to Marrakech or Fez but is also worthy to visit. The long history of Rabat, is present in its 12-th century Almohad Era Walls, in medina and in the kasbah. The medina was reconstructed by pirates Andalusian Muslims of Moroccan origin expelled from Christian Spain in 1610. King Mohammed V, established Rabat as capital after independence in 1956. Don’t miss the Oudaia Gate, the Royal Palace, the Museum of Moroccan Arts and the Mohammed V Mausoleum. There are beautiful beaches near Rabat and excellent golf clubs. Hotels in Rabat
