Saguaro National Park
The Saguaro Cactus (Carnegiea Gigantea)
is the main symbol of Arizona and a recognizable symbol of the American Southwest. Saguaro was named national monument in 1933, the national park status was given in 1994. These giant cactus are slow-growing perfectly adapted to the desert. They can live up to 200 years and can grow up to 15 m (50 ft) due to the high content of water can weigh between 6 and 8 tons.
