The Historic Route 66,
opened in 1938 and connects the cities of Chicago to Los Angeles. The Route 66 passes through eight states, has 3940 km (2450 mi) and was nicknamed “The Main Street of America”. This iconic road facilitated tourism development and has acquired the status of legend through literature, cinema and music. Currently the road is different from the original route because some sections were included in highways, nevertheless remains charismatic.
