Maui is the second largest island of Hawaii,

is known as “The Valley Isle”. Maui is formed by six volcanoes, the islands of Maui, Lanai, Molokai and Kahoolawe were known originally for Maui Nui, but have been separated by rising sea levels. The shallow waters that was created by those sunken valley provide an excellent shelter to breeding humpback whales that can be seen often from the shore with their “babies”. You must see Lahainha, the historic whaling village on the west coast of Maui. The city was the home of King Kamahameha I and was the capital of the island in 1790. The only train in Hawaii is the Sugarcane Train and takes you to a journey between Lahainha and Kaana Pali for a different view of the island. Do not miss the Haleakala National Park.
