It is one of American cities
most linked to the horrors of the American Civil War, but Atlanta has more to offer than past events. The state capital of Georgia is known as The Big Peach and Hotlanta. Atlanta was in the 1960s a center of the Civil Rights Movement. The city was destroyed during the Civil War, there’s few buildings existing before the war, most of the buildings are modern. Martin Luther King was born in Atlanta and grew up in a neighborhood called Sweet Aubum and his home is National Historic Site. Do not miss the Presidential Library and Museum located in Liberty Park and alluding to another son of Georgia, Jimmy Carter. The Centennial Tower is one of the most known skyscrapers of the city.
