During the 11th century,
the Palace of Westminster was originally built by Edward the Confessor, on the banks of the River Thames, several fires have marked the history of the Palace of Westminster. All the complex is considered World Heritage Site by UNESCO. After the fire of 1834 was designed, the complex present today and is known as the Houses of Parliament. In the complex you can find the House of Commons, the House of Lords, the St Stephen’s Gate and the Elizabeth Tower, commonly known as Big Ben, although this is the name of the 13-ton bell that is in the tower. This is the heart of London. The best views of the Houses of Parliament are on the south side of the river. The nearest Tube station is Westminster. Hotels in London
