The Lake Manapouri in New Zealand’s South Island,
is the deepest of the southern glacial lakes. The lake is surrounded on three sides by high mountains which remain snow capped almost all year. There are several walking and hiking trails near the lake, the best known are the Kepler Track and the Circle Track. The bays, the islands and the beaches of the Lake Manapouri are beautiful. You can get the lake by Invercargill and is also possible take a cruise across the lake from Pearl Harbour on southeast corner of Manapouri.
