This small town has a superb location
on its own peninsula, projecting into the Bay of Naples with stunning views of Mount Vesuvius. Sorrento is located close to important historic sites such as Pompeii and Herculaneum. In addition to Sorrento is a wonderful vacation spot, also an important starting point for other parts of Campania, the region of Italy whose largest city of Naples. From Sorrento you can go to the beautiful islands of Ischia and Capri and also to Amalfi is connected by one of the most beautiful roads in the world, to go through much of the Amalfi Coast. Along the way lies the charming town of Positano. The views of Sorrento and its cliff with colorful houses typical of the area are the most charming views of the entire Italian coastline.
