Lake Garda (Lago di Garda) is one

of the most beautiful lakes in Italy. Situated halfway between Venice and Milan, the Lake Garda is 370 sq km (143 sq mi) and 346 m (1135 ft) deep, has awesome blue waters and landscapes full of colours and contrast. Lies in the Alps and was formed by glaciation from the last Ice Age. The Garda has a mild microclimate that supports year round green vegetation, the lake acts like a giant solar panel. In its northern tip, Lake Garda is a narrow fjord, enclosed by mountains and dominated by Monte Baldo, 2078 m (6815 ft) high on the eastern shore. Lake Garda has stunning towns on its shores like Sirmione, Riva del Garda, Garda, Malcesine, Desenzano del Garda and Peschiera del Garda.
