The Musée d’Orsay is an important museum
on the banks of the River Seine in Paris. The collection covers various forms of art from the period 1848-1914, including a section of Impressionism. The museum is housed in a beautiful converted train station which is itself a piece of art. The Van Gogh paintings are the stars of the collection that includes works by Impressionist painters such as Claude Monet, Edouard Manet, Auguste Renoir, Edgar Degas, Camille Pissaro and James Whistler.
