The masterpiece of Gothic
is located on Ile de la Cité in Paris. The cathedral was founded in 1160 by Maurice de Sully, bishop of Paris, the first stone was laid by Pope Alexander III. It took 200 years to be completed and is now one of the most famous churches in the world, there are the three entrances, at left the Portal of the Virgin, at right the Portal St Anne and at the centre the Final Judgment. After the work of Victor Hugo’s The Hunchback of Notre Dame, the cathedral became even more famous. Hotels in Paris
