La Coruña is a Spanish city located
in the northwest of the Iberian Peninsula. It is one of the most important and beautiful cities of Galicia and its main monument is the Tower of Hercules, the oldest lighthouse in operation in the world. Originally built over 1900 years ago by Gaius Lupus Sevius, the Tower of Hercules is now a lighthouse fully modernized, with 49 meters high, reached after climbing 242 steps, the views worth the effort. Be sure to visit the Fortaleza San Anton and the Fine Arts Museum. The Plaza Maria Pita honors a woman who sounded the alarm about an attack on the city by the troops of Sir Francis Drake in 1589. In this square is the magnificent Palacio Municipal. Hotels in La Coruna
