Braga is a Portuguese city founded by the Romans
under the name of Bracara Augusta. Braga has more than 2000 years of history which was in constant evolution, growth and development. Located in northern Portugal, near the city of Guimarães, Braga is a city full of culture and traditions, is known in Portugal as the youngest city in the country. In 2012 enjoys the status of European Youth Capital. It is also known as City of the Archbishops, is probably the most religious city and major center of religious studies in Portugal.
