The Great Masurian Lakes are situated in
north-eastern Poland and are known as “The Land of Thousand Lakes”. The lakes are one of the highlights of the region, is the largest stretch of fresh water in Europe. In the area there are also beautiful forests surrounding the lakes. The 45 major lakes are connected by eight rivers and twelve canals as well as many smaller lakes.
