Naxos is the largest and the most
fertile island of the Cyclades in Greece. Naxos is green, mountainous, has a distinctive architecture and sandy beaches. Agriculture is very important in the economy of the island, olives, olive oil, potatoes and fruits are some of the products produced in Naxos. Naxos Town is the capital and locate in its the busy harbor, lies the most famous monument of the island, The Portara, a huge stone doorframe to the “never completed” temple to Apollo on an islet just by the harbor of the town.
