Lefkada is an island since the 7th century BC,
when a channel was cut, until then was connected to the mainland. A bridge connects Lefkada and the mainland. The island’s main town, is Lefkada, in the far north, has beautiful buildings and narrow streets with arcades. The island of Lefkada is hilly, and very fertile, lush with vineyards, olive groves and traditional villages. Around the island’s beautiful beaches, fishing villages and bays as Vasiliki. Pondi is a windy beach with many practitioners of wind surfing. There are ferries between the island of Kefalonia and Vasiliki. Lefkada is also known as Lefkas.

By plane – Lefkada is connected to the mainland and the airport of Preveza is 20 minutes drive away from Lefkada Town.
By bus – There are buses from Athens and the journey takes about 5 hours.
By boat – There are ferries from Kefalonia.
