Pilsen, also known as Plzen,
is an industrial city located in the Czech Republic. It is home to a colossal brewery, whose particular style, gave the town its name. The Skoda automobile company was founded in Pilsen. The city was founded in 1295 by Wenceslaus II as Plzen. Pilsen is one of the prettiest towns in Bohemia and it is closed to the German cities of Regensburg and Nuremberg. Pilsen is located at the confluence of four rivers, Uslava, Uhlava, Mze and Radbuza, they form the Berounka River. Pilsen is 90 km (55 mi) west of Prague.
