Vis is a Croatian island in the Adriatic Sea.
Separated from Hvar for a channel 8 km (5 mi) wide, Vis was closed to tourism until 1989, because it was a base of the Yugoslavian army. City Vis (Issa) is the main urban settlement in Adriatic. Kemiza is a small fishing village with a beautiful bay, Greek and Roman ruins, a monastery of the Renaissance and a citadel. Do not miss the Blue Cave on the islet of Bisevo, the Archaeological Museum and the Emeral Cave of Zelena Spilja. Hotels in Vis
