The Plitvice Lakes are located at the heart
of Croatia’s Dinaric Mountains. Marked on old maps as “Devil’s Garden”, the Plitvice Lakes are sixteen interconnected naturally terraced lakes, the water gushes out throught hundreds of holes to another lake. The beautiful colours of the lakes are azures, blues and greens and are constantly changing according to the sunlight and the mineral deposit in the water. There are natural dams between the lakes. The weather in the Plitvice Lakes can be very cold in Winter even with snow and very hot in the Mediterranean Summers. It’s one of the most beautiful natural places of Europe and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Slunj is the nearest town but you can also visit it from Zagreb as a daytrip. There is a great diversity of wildlife like wild boars, wolves and bears. Hotels in Slunj
