Dunhuang is a chinese city
situated close the junction of northern and southern silk routes. Dunhuang was in the past “Sha Zhou” that means “beautiful desert oasis”. The city has been very important culturally and militarily due to its location. The Mogao Caves is the most known place to visit. The Crescent Lake is a beautiful lake in the desert 6 km south of Dunhuang.
