Uluru also known as Ayers Rock,
is a huge monolithic rock situated in the interior of Australia. It stands on a plain surrounded by a majestic and part of the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park which also includes the “Olgas“, a group of 36 red giant stones. The Uluru is formed from layers of sandstone very nearly vertical drive. The surface layer became red due to oxidation. Uluru and Kata Tjuta belong to the Anangu people , who manage the sites together with Parks Australia. The Uluru is very important in the culture of Anangu. Most visitors to Uluru try to climb to the summit although the Anangu people prefer not to do so. Every year someone dies trying and many others need to be rescued. The top of the rock offers open views over the whole plain. The winds are very strong that complicate the task of who rises, the safest option is to walk around Uluru from a distance of 9 km (6 mi) that provide good views at various Anangu locations. The easiest way to get Uluru is by air to Alice Springs then by road to the Ayers Rock. There’s an entrance fee to visit the rock. This is one of the most iconic places of Australia.
