Bagan is a rich archaeological site
situated in Myanmar, former Burma. Between the 11th and 13th centuries, the kings of Pagan dynasty, built thousands of pagodas and temples here. The Ananda Temple was started in 1091 by King Anawrahta and inspired many of the temples that were built later. In the misty mornings, the golden stupas seem to float in the air. The Temple Gawdawpalin was initiated by King Narapatisithu (1174-1211) and completed by his son. These magnificent temples inspired the future of Myanmar, Bagan is one of the least explored archaeological sites by tourism in Asia but one of the most spectacular. An earthquake destroyed many of the temples in the area but still left a lot to be worth visiting Bagan. Hotels in Bagan
