Kuala Lumpur, or just KL,
is the cultural and economic centre of Malaysia. Despite the shiny glass and metal buildings that dominate the skyline, is in the old part, which are the jewels of the city. It is a multicultural city with a great mix of Malays, Chinese and Indians, this mixture is noted in the architecture, the food, culture and religion. The Petronas Twin Towers are two massive skyscrapers that are today the biggest landmark of the city and the country. The views from its summit are breathtaking, lit at night are stunning. Chinatown is a wonderful mix of smells and noises typical of Chinese cities. Little India is also a profusion of colors and aromas. You must visit the Independence Square, with imposing and beautiful buildings. Not far lies the Masjid Jamek Mosque, an impressive building. The Hindu temple Sri Mahamariamman should also be visited. Besides the Petronas Towers, KL Tower is still, high but below 485 m (1482 ft) of the twin towers. KL is currently an important city in Southeast Asia, has flight connections to worldwide and is an important base for low cost flights to other parts of Asia and the Pacific. Transports in Kuala Lumpur
Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KUL): KL Airport is one of the most busiest airports of Southeast Asia. Its Low Cost Carrier Terminal (LCCT) is located 20 km far from the main terminal and it a major hub for several low cost companies as Air Asia or Tiger Airways. There are buses and trains connecting the both terminals and the city centre.
