Sulawesi is an island in Indonesia
situated in east of Borneo. Slightly smaller than Britain, Sulawesi is narrow and nowhere is more than 100 km (60 mi) from the sea. There are many ethnic groups and cultures surviving in Sulawesi, the Toraja and Bugis are the most famous. The isolation of Sulawesi produced a large number of endemic species. Don’t miss the Tana Beru to watch Bugis, the Torajan, the Mount Lokon, the Lore Lindu National Park, the Ancient Megalithic Stone Statues in Napu, Besoa and Bada Valleys and the Tukang Besi National Park. There are flights to Makassar, Manado and Pula. Sulawesi is one of Sunda Islands and was known for Celebes. Hotels in Sulawesi
