Kampong Som is a small archipelago
near Sihanoukville on the coast of Cambodia. Koh Rong, 44 km (27.5 mi) off the coast, is not only the largest, but also the second largest island in Cambodia. Koh Rong has few tourists, and most visitors are day trippers who visit the island from Sihanoukville, just for one day. Occasionally, there are those who stay longer in the bungalows of the beautiful beaches of the island. There are plans to transform Koh Rong in a strong tourist center, with the construction of several resorts. The tips of the island are mountainous, the center is flatter. The mountainous part is almost impenetrable, is covered with thick bush. The beautiful white sandy beaches are well worth spending a few days in this beautiful island that one day will be an important site for tourism in Cambodia. There is only one settlement which can be purchased commodities. The abundant fresh water, feed several mangrove forests there all along the coast, if you can rent a boat and explore the entire coast of Koh Rong, because you’ll find small beaches of unique beauty. Snorkeling and diving are things to do in Koh Rong. You can get Koh Rong, from Sihanoukville by boat. Sometimes Koh Rong is confused with Koh Rong Sanloem, a neighbor island and even more unspoilled.
