Valparaiso

Valparaiso is a city in Chile known

as “The Pearl of the Pacific”. A strong earthquake in 1906 devastated the city that however regained its splendor. Known by its inhabitants as “Valpo”, the city is also known has “Little San Francisco” or “The Jewell of the Pacific” and is considered World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Wherever you look in Valparaiso you see street art, there are hundreds of beautiful graffitis.  Valparaiso has the Chile’s busiest port. Located between the sea and hills that are accessible by 15 elevators (ascensores) archaic but that provide breathtaking views. Pablo Neruda, Chilean poet, winner of a Nobel Prize, had a house here, La Sebastiana. Don’t miss the Street Art, Cerro Concepción, the Baburizza Palace, the Paseo Atkinson, the Museum of Fine Arts and the Palacio Lyon. The ascensor Polanco on Calle Simpson is wonderful.
