The Sugarloaf (Pão de Açúcar)
is the icon of the amazing Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro. This green monolith with 396 m (1299 ft) is projected into the Atlantic in Guanabara Bay. A funicular, built in 1912, traveling the 1400 m (4265 ft) of the journey that connects the top of Sugarloaf to the Morro da Urea. It is one the most beautiful places of Rio de Janeiro.
