Corcovado is a high mountain
706 m (2316 ft)above the sea located in the heart of Rio de Janeiro. Its name derives from the Portuguese word corcova (hunchback) which reflects its shape. On the top of Corcovado lies the iconic statue of Christ the Redeemer (Cristo Redentor) “watching” the city of Rio de Janeiro. You can get the Corcovado by a cable car which provides fantastic views during the journey. The sunrises and sunsets are unbelievable beautiful. There are helicopter tours to Corcovado but the main way to get the Corcovado is by the Rack Railway. Hotels in Rio de Janeiro
