Plaza de Mayo is one of the main
squares of Buenos Aires. Plaza de Mayo has been a hub of political life in Argentina since the 25 May of 1810 revolution which started the process towards the country independence. The Mothers of Plaza de Mayo is an association of Argentine mothers whose children disappeared during the military dictatorship. The Irish band U2 has a song called “Mothers of the Disappeared” in regards this movement. Some of the Buenos Aires landmarks are located in Plaza de Mayo such as Metropolitan Cathedral, Casa Rosada, Hacienda Palace, May Pyramid, Bank of the Argentine Nation and Buenos Aires City Hall.
