The Lake Turkana is located in the eastern part
of the Great Rift Valley in northern Kenya. The lake is fed by three rivers, but has at out flow for this reason water levels fluctuate during the year, creating an ever changing landscape. Around the lake, there are extinct volcanoes and lava flow, one of the islands of the lake is volcanic, the Central Island. Lake Turkana is the largest alkaline lake of the world and is considered by UNESCO a World Heritage Site. The best attraction is its 22000 Nile Crocodiles. The nearest town is Lodwar, 75 km (47 mi) away. From Nairobi it takes around three days of road trip to get Lake Turkana. Hotels in Kenya
